My complaint did get sorted in the end, even though it took way longer than I expected. i was frustrated for most of the process, but since they finally fixed it recently, I’m feeling a bit better about the whole thing now.

I went by my local ReStore hoping to find a few useful things, but the selection was disappointing. Most of it looked picked over, there were a lot of random sizes, and I could not find anything close to what I actually needed. Maybe I just came at the wrong time, but I left feeling annoyed

In the end, I gave up after a few minutes. I was just trying to find some basic information, but the site felt really messy to navigate. The menus weren’t very clear, pages were loading slowly for me, and the donation section had me going in circles. It was more confusing than it needed to be

"Not much help with homeownership"
I reached out to them about a homeownership issue, and I thought it would be a lot more straightforward. They did respond, but the answers didn’t really clear things up for me, and somehow I ended up with more questions than when I started.
The replies felt slow, and I kept having to ask the same things again, which was frustrating. I know they probably deal with a lot of people, but still, if you’re asking for help with buying or keeping a home, you kind of expect the steps to make sense.
I was hoping for better guidance on the program and what I was supposed to do next, but I mostly just felt confused. Maybe it works fine for other people, or maybe I caught them on a bad week, but my experience wasn’t great.

"I really like what habitat stands for..."
I really like what habitat stands for, so I wanted to have a good experience at the ReStore. The prices were decent, and a couple of the staff members were helpful, but the customer service was definitely mixed. One person seemed annoyed when I asked basic questions, which made the visit feel a little uncomfortable. I wouldn’t say it was a bad experience, but I’d just warn others not to expect consistently friendly service.

"Pickup was a little hit or miss"
The pickup ended up being late, which was a bit frustrating. I guess it wasn't a huge deal in the end, but I was definitely wondering if I had the time wrong or something. Overall, it was okay, just not the smoothest experience.

I tried to make a donation, but the page kept jumping around while I was filling things out, which got annoying fast. Then the receipt took way longer than expected to show up, so I wasn’t even sure if it went through at first... just not the smoothest experience.

I reached out to habitat.org a few different times with a question about donating and never really got a proper response. The whole experience came across as kind of dismissive, honestly. I understand they’re probably busy, but basic communication shouldn’t feel like such a struggle.

"Prices felt too high at ReStore"
I stopped by ReStore recently expecting to find some good deals, especially since a lot of the items are donated and used. After looking around for a while, though, the prices felt much higher than I expected. I’ve shopped at places like this before over the years, and this visit just didn’t feel like the bargain I was hoping for.

"Not sure I’m seeing the impact nearby"
I really wanted to support them, and maybe I’m missing something, but I just haven’t seen much of a difference in my area. There’s a lot of messaging, events, and requests for donations, which I get, but my neighborhood still feels the same and families are still struggling. Maybe they’re doing good work in other places, or maybe it’s just not visible from where I am, but it feels a little disconnected locally.

"Helpful work, but the money details feel a bit buried"
I do think they’re doing good work, and I don’t want to take away from that. But when I tried to understand the money side of things, it felt like the information was technically there but not exactly easy to follow. The reports are available, sure, but they’re dense, and part of me wondered if they keep it that way because most people won’t dig through all of it. Overall, not a bad experience, I just wish the financial breakdowns were more straightforward and easier to find.

"Great mission, but the day felt a little chaotic"
I volunteered for a build day and really loved the purpose behind it. The people were kind and clearly cared a lot, which made me feel good about being there. That said, check-in was confusing, and we ended up standing around waiting for quite a while. I left feeling glad I helped, but also a bit frustrated because the day could have been much smoother...

"Pretty disappointing"
I expected better from habitat.org. The staff I dealt with came off rude and not very helpful. Replies took way too long, and when they did answer, it felt like they hadn’t even read my message. Just felt disorganized overall.

"ReStore can be hit or miss"
I’ve picked up a few things from the ReStore, it really depends on what you find. Some stuff has been totally solid, but I did buy a cabinet once that had more damage than I noticed at first. I kind of felt pressured to decide quickly because it seemed like the good items go fast, and I wish I’d slowed down and checked it over better. Prices are usually reasonable, but definitely take your time and look everything over closely before buying.

I had a hard time figuring out the application steps. It wasn’t really clear what I was supposed to do next, so I kept second-guessing myself along the way... just felt more confusing than it needed to be.
